Hey guys, i am new to the site and up hear in far north qld flatties aren't really sought after as we plenty of other choices but this is one thing that i try to figure out but just can't seem to get it right because i can see where and when the flatties feed/lay so i am asking what rigs and best time of the tide is best and i want to catch one on a plastic because i have got one on a hardbody but i just want to get one on the plastic. cheers |

Hi Harro, real easy, use gulp camo worms or gulp banana prawns, not sure about up north, but if you try the incoming tide, on the low high, fish through the top of the tide, into the runout, if they are there, they will take these plastics for sure, use a jig head which will get you to the bottom, the plastic will do the rest. tight lines. Hi Harro, what did you catch them on, did you target any tide,or just went and had a go. Glad that you have been able to catch a fish, which you wanted to target, were they a good size? cheers Daz |

Hey daz the first one i was cast at jacks then from no where one screamed and smashed it. But the last two, i half had them in mind but i was casting around a snag from the shore were one just hit it with all its might, i wasn't even sure what it was until i got it to the bank and that was on low tide and i came back in the arvo and it was low neap times so it was around the same height and i casted at a another snag and had my plastic cut off behind the hooks and put another one on and then got another hit which from the head shake felt like a "gt" but they went quiet and couple of casts later it felt like i hit the log but then the drag screamed a little but then it dropped so next cast i had the same hit and i made sure i stuck at it and pulling up another small flattie and i nailed these on the berkley powerbait 3' power minnow in pumpkin seed and the other one on pearlcent one. A mate told me where he only gets big ones so i will be trying there Cheers mate
