Another rainy day in England, nothing new there eh! Did ok in the match finished 7th of 27. My footy team (Wigan Athletic) avoided relegation from the premier league yesterday with a fantastic win away from home at Sheffield united, sore head this morning.

I wish we had some of the same problem (rain) with the vast majority of the country in Drought it makes some of the fishing possibilities bleek.

One more week to our Hinchenbrook Channel trip cant wait :)

Saltwater and it is a world away from where I live (Sydney), about 3 days drive (8 - 10hrs a day), the species available are totally different to what I have available here as it is tropical.

We will be chasing Mangrove Jack's, Barramundi, Trevally and heaps more.

We are fishing with rob-laspina click the link and check out his reports to give you an idea (pictures) of the fish we will be chasing. :) cant wait.....getting pretty jumpy now....

Well Rick if you are traveling that distance you deserve to catch something decent mate and I hope you do. Have you checked the weather forecast? what condtions are best for you? I find high barometric pressure is best for Predators and low pressure for everything else.

Regards Bri :o) (I really will have to check my spellings before I post ha ha)

This isn't like fishing in England :)

You can literally tie on a piece plastic to a hook drag it through the water and catch fish. (Hope I catch something now I have said that).

In all seriousness though if we dont catch something - something is seriously wrong. Especially considering we are going out with Rob.

I dont know about the Guides over there but a good guide can catch fish in most conditions and at most times of the year.

You really have to get your butt out here for a fish. Because that last statement tells me you never have. It is a totally different kettle of fish out here.

It's terrible and we really do hate having such good fishing!!!!! But someone has too....... :o

It sounds so easy over there mate, hope your not setting yourself up for a fall :O) How long is your trip going to last? Regarding barometric pressure, it makes a difference, but you only realise it when you record the conditions you are fishing in (and I'm not saying you don't) Especially in fresh water.

Your right I mainly use for the fresh too. But only certain species.

We are on the water for four days.

Do you ever go on Big trips or only local stuff?

If so where do you go? And what do you fish for?

Yeah I go for longer trips 4 or 5 days for Redfin (big one's) on the river Great Ouse, I have been over to France fishing for the fish that you all hate.... They have some massive fish over there and some big reservoirs (Chantecoque, L'Orient and Lac du Cassien) and rivers full of fish, mainly Carp, Bream and Wels catfish. Its just a slightly warmer climate than England and the food is sh*t but the beer is cheap :o)
