Last weekend Myself and a few of the boys Headed of to the hills for our anual trip away What a weekend On the way there a newly licenced driver forgot he had brakes and ran up the rear of my boat causing $1000 damage to my motor that put us 2 hours behind as i had to go home and get the old 9 hp out of my shed so it was then dark as we were setting up then my mate forgot to fix his fuel line so half way across the lake on our way to camp his motor died and had to be towed We thought nothing else could go wrong but were we right of the mark we had set up camp and decided that we would fish in the morning to late and we were all hungry so we put on a nice leg of lamb in the camp oven and headed in to town to get my mates hose fixed nothing major a 10 minute job After leaving Kmart with a new hose my mate realised he locked his keys in his ute took us 2 hours to get in but we got there and headed back ready to hook into our roast our other mate was having a rest and was keeping an eye on it for us while we were gone. When we got back our mate was asleep and we could smell this great roast thank god he had taken it out of the coals we thought but to our dissapointment he had fallen aslep not long after we had left and forgot the roast when we opend the oven we were devistated to find it was black and burnt to a crisp Oh well toasted sandwiches it was then an early night We woke up and fished hard all day 2 boats every way of fishing we knew for the weekend 17 hours fishing for one suicidal redfin measuring 8 cm that was hooked while trawling and dead on arrival. But it was still nice to get away with the boys for a wekend we hope never happens like that again

Gee, sounds like yours had a shocker of a weekend but oh well, a bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office! |

I bet at the time , you wondered why you even left the house, but it's these moments, which give you a great laugh when your sitting back on your next fishin trip, just appreciating wetting your line. p.s I have had some bad days fishing, but I think you win. |
