Hi, Just wondering when using gang hooks, which way should the pillie head be facing, at the moment I have the head up near the eye of the hook. Thanks Dan See my fishing galleries here...

Hey Dan, They can be quite tricky at first. When using gang hooks for pillies I always start with lining up the gang hooks next to the pillie ensuring that the first gang hook which is connected to the line will have the gape of the hook lined up with the pillies eye. Once that has been established start with securing the pillie from the tail first entering each hook into the back of the pillie until you get to the eye which should be a near perfect match if your calculations have been correct. When fishing the rocks or the beach I will have the pilchard swimming towards me on the retrieve to assist in the bait looking more life like-in other words the the bait will be presented as if it was hooked in the mouth if you had caught it. Good luck with it Dan it took me a number of goes before I got it right. Brian BEACHMASTER BEACHMASTER The Ultimate Beach & Rock Fishing Accessory |
