Hi,

I would like some advice on beach fishing at The Entrance NSW. I beleive the beach is called North Entrance. As i am only a novice what bait would you recomend and also what is the best time for fishing at this beach, low tide, high tide or some websites suggested the "turning of the tide" how do you work out the exactly when this is? Any information would be helpful.

Thanks SD

G'day SD, Jiggler here. I actually live about 2 minutes walk from North Entrance beach and fish it regularly. The baits that I use are good old fashion pilchards for tailor and salmon and sometimes jewies, bream don't mind pillie tails. The best jewie bait though is fresh or live squid. Beach worms for bream, dart(if they are around) and whiting. I also use bumber bar and slice type lures for the salmon and tailor around dawn if they start hitting the surface.

1.5 hrs run up tide to about the same run out is the best time to fish but the beach is fickle and it all depends on wind, tide(size and timing) swell, time of year and drag umong other things.

North Entie beach is one of the better beaches along the coast so my advise is give it go. Let me know how you do go.
