How are the Jewfish fishing in your area? Have heard they are a little quite this year.

They are now up home mate but that is pretty standard for this time of year. Anytime before now you could expect one but for the last 3 months they have been quiet.

There's schoolies on the beach up our way, and I did hear second hand info that there was a good size one caught in the lake (Lake Macquarie)2 weeks ago on a soft plastic.

We got these two crackers back in January. 49lb and 57lb on the SA FWC. We're going back in January for some more hopefully. They are just starting to run down there with early reports of 25kg fish..

At the moment the Mulloway or what the eastern states people call Jewfish are really fireing was down collecting bait last night a couple of young guys managed to catch one about 12kg I used to target them quite often but as I dont like them as a table fish I generally do a quick tag and release somtimes if one of my mates are with me I will generally let them have it if the fish is spent I generally useeither live scalies, whiting or mullet fillet.

This is one that was caught not long ago took a quick photo then the mate took it home to feed his 7 kids.

They are good to catch can give awsome runs Has anyone fished at Yalata in South Australia??

(Spooled just set pic to Large)

I had a mate call me over easter to tell me to get to the beaches up here (Port Macquarie) as there were a heap of Jewies being caught, unfortunately I didnt get the chance, but from all reports they were there.

One the winter rains hit Perth there will be a few boys out chasing the Mulloway at the harbour and near the stirling bridge which is in Fremantle since a fair few of them are pushed out by the fresh water.Might even have to give it a go myself to strech the arms a bitThese days I generally tag them and give the details to a bloke who is doing a study on them.
