Biography:

Craig McGill has fished for thirty five years, highlighted by a two year non-stop fishing odyssey around Australia and has also fished PNG and NZ.

An experienced fishing photojournalist and fishing guide, Craig has contributed to all the major national fishing and boating magazines, plus a few regionals.

He has appeared on many fishing and lifestyle TV programs and regularly reports on radio, particularly the Hi Tide program on 2KY and the George and Paul show on 2UE. He produced the successful videos "Fishing Sydney Harbour", "Fishing Sydney" and "Fishing Soft Plastic Lures". "Fishing Sydney" is currently Australia's top selling fishing dvd. He holds ANSA masters awards for tagging and lure casting.

He gives regular seminars at fishing clubs and tackle shops and is a member of the Sydney Pro/Am Committee, Australian Outdoor writers assoc. and The professional fishing Guides and instructors assoc.

Craig owns and operates Fishabout Tours Guiding service in Sydney and is currently Sydneys only full time Guide. Fishabout tours started in 1993 and is now Sydney's premier guiding operation with three boats working Sydney harbour and the Hawkesbury River. More recently he has branched out into "Top End" guiding, organizing guided tours to remote locations like Cape York, NT, PNG, NZ, The Kimberly and Arnhem land, for groups of his Sydney clients.

As I write this in late April the air temperature is relatively cold at around 16 degrees. That's a long way down on normal summer temperatures which are usually between 25 and 30. [read more]
